Yesterday was my senior skip day.  I couldn't skip on Friday because I had to coach track at northstar after school, and it was my last day coaching.  So Petra and I skipped yesterday.

I woke up too freakin early (8:00), and couldn't fall back asleep.  After taking a shower, and playing Sorry! and Monopoly on games.com, Petra came over.  We left and headed towards the cities.  First we stopped at Woodburry, and walked around World Market.  After walking around there we went to Dicks Sporting Goods.  I thought it was really cool that they had lacrosse sticks there.  I think  it would be fun to play lacrosse.  It seems like a fun game.  We also checked out their camping/backpacking stuff.  It reminded me of how much I want to leave on our trip west.  I can't wait.  After that we went to noodles for lunch, and headed to IKEA.

We spent two hours in IKEA walking through the store looking at everything.  I can't wait to get an appartment on my own that I can decorate.  I'm heading straight to IEKA and picking out everything.

Anyway...enough about me being a geek, I should go.

Here is an obligatory meme, before I start procrastinating during second hour

Your Birthdate: June 28

Your birth on the 28th day of the month (1 energy) adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your Life Path.

The number 1 energy suggest more executive ability and leadership qualities than you path may have indicated.

A birthday on the 28th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach.

Unlike much of the other 1 energy, this birthday is one that endow with the ability to start a job and continue on until it is finished.

You may prefer to use the broad brush, but you can handle details as well.

You are sensitive, but your feeling stay somewhat repressed.

You have a compelling manner that can be dominating in many situations.

Now that I got that out of the way...

I have been rather busy since my last "real" update. Both North and Memorials Proms are now done, and the AP tests started. I'm taking Stats today.

Prom Round 1: North
North's prom was really good. I picked up Petra, and we went to Carson Park for pictures with the group. Petra was beautiful, like normal, in her dress. The pictures were cold though. I felt bad for all the girls in their dresses when it was about 40 degrees...and really windy. After pictures Petra, Shorty, LA, and I went to Shorty's house for dinner. After dinner we headed up to North for the dance. Everything was really fun, except the 10 or so minutes when Petra was in teh bathroom re-taping herslef into her dress. AFter the dance we went to Justins, got about 2 hours of sleep, and called it a day.

Prom Round 2: Memorial
Memorial's prom was equally as good as North's. I picked up petra and we did our "tour" to Petra's grandparents house, and andrea's house. After the tour we went to Stella Blues for dinner. At dinner we ran into one of the swim coaches that we haven't seen since the season ended. It was nice to catch up with him. AFter dinner was the dance. I had more fun at memorial's than north's. But that isn't unusual for me. Memorial's Prom was at the civic center, and it was packed. There were people all the way to the back of the upstairs dance hall packed sholdure to sholdure. My favorite part of the dance was when they played Antsmarching. After Prom we went to my house to change...and Petra fell asleep. She crahsed on my couch at 1:30, and I was stuck sleeping on the floor. When we woke up the next morning we tried to get ahold of the people at Liegels, and they all were asleep. We made Smooties and french toast instead, and just hung around my house.

It's scare tactic day at North today. Later today the mock car crash will be shown to the juniors. It's really sad because SADD/Arrive Alive don't realize that they aren't doing anythign except scarring people who have already gone through losing friends or faimly members to car crashes. It will not change the fact that many of the Juniors and Seniors that are going to prom, will go to after parties after prom and drink. SADD doesn't realize that noone will change their mind be reading posters that are scare tactics, and probobly not true facts. Instead of pouring salt in the wounds of people who have lost friends and family to car crashes, they should do something about the people who choose to drink and drive. It would make more sense to have some sort of a free taxi service. I'm sure parents would be willing to volunteer a night of sleep to make sure that students have a safe way of getting around. If you established a no-questions-asked policy, where the students call North, and a parent will come and drive the student to another house no questions asked, many students would use that. It would make the roads safer, and the students safer.

That's just my $.02 worth

I haven't updated in a while, probobly because my life is boring

So for spring break I really didn't do anything. Petra was in Hawaii, a few of my friends and my brother were in Florida, and the rest of my friends went skiing in Michigan, so I was basically stuck in Eau Claire by myself. It was thrilling

Now it's easter adn the tradition of my brother uncles and cousin playing halo 17 hours a day (literally 17 hours a day) has begun and I am bored out of my mind. I really don't play much x-box to begin with and I get bored easily, so I get to be bored out of my mind for the next few days. Fun fun fun.

Wow...so my life has been crazy...with a Capitol CRAZY

Life is becoming hectic, homework seems even more dumb as the snow should be starting to melt. The only thing is, it isn't. Instead of highs near 40, which we should be having, its snowing and highs aren't even close to breaking freezing. Anyway

This week was the week of TV's at my house. My mom wanted a new TV for our upstairs, because she could't see anything on our old one. So my dad decided to go out to Best Buy and pick up a bigger TV, and upgrade us to an HDTV. The first one we got was a Samsung widescreen HDTV. My mom saw it set up, watched it for a few mintues and didn't like it. She said it made the people short, and fat. So we took it back and got a second one. This time it was a Fullscreen Advent (never heard of that brand before). We got it home and the sound from it was really tinny and bad. So we took it back. Tuesday we picked up a Sony one, but the screen on that one was bad and only showed things in Black and White. So we took that one back. So in 5 days, we had 4 different TV's after my dad picked up a full screen Samsung.

There is so much more to type, but I don't really feel like typing them right now.

Here's a new idea. I know I really have wanted to say things to people lately, mainly things that annoy me but I can't tell them because they would hate me. So here is your chance. Leave an annonomys post if you want, say something you always wanted to tell me, and I'll listen.

Excuse the large journal entry but I have had a pretty busy weekend.

I'll start my weekend bright and early, too early actually, on Friday Morning. I woke up at 4:30 am to go to school by 4:45. Reasoning in teenagers may be really off base but this was huge. North was playing Memorial for a trip to Madison and state. This game was HUGE. Before this season North hadn't beaten Memorial in 13 games. Figure two games a season, thats six years. This year was different. North came from nowhere, beating Memorial in their first meeting of the season. Everyone said it was a fluke. We wern't supposed to be good this year, and everyone was expecting us to take our regular place in the lower part of the confrence standings. The team just kept fighting though, taking the Old Abes down a second time. At that point, near the end of the season everyone was talking. North and Memorial could possibly face each other again, a third time, this time deciding who gets a trip down to Madison.

So I stood in line, waiting for the doors to open and get a chance at watching some school history, of sending our hockey team to state for the first time in a decade. I stood and waited with some of the people in my class that I never would have talked too if It wasn't senior year (I have a theory that every senior class becomes more social as the year goes on and people talk to people they hadn't in the precious three years). Waiting you could tell the excitement. There was the usual cutting, but it was pretty much civil. At 6:00 the doors of the school opened, as the atheltic director handed out tickets to get the order of people that came in. I was handed number 76 and immediately panicked. I knew there was no way that with the 6 ticket per person limit, the 400ish tickets wouldn't last to me. I walked up to Angie and Laura Bagley and asked if they had filled their limit. They both said no so I had each of the pick one ticket up for me.

As school went on the only thing people talked about was the game. Tickets were being scalped everywhere. I heard some stories of $25 a ticket, or 6 for $100. The prices were astronimical, but than again so was the game. As 5th and 6th hour proceeded, fewer and fewer people were in classes. Those who had tickets left, while those who didn't have tickets stayed untill the day got over with. I skipped 7th hour to head for Hobbs. I got there and approched the second line of the day. More than 500 people were in line. Hockey parents, and students stood waiting anxiously. The doors at Hobbs opened at 3:00 and we filed in. I got a pretty decent seat, about 6 rows back on the right side of the North students section. The crowd was anxious for the game of the year to begin.

The teams came out for the faceoff, the puck dropped, and the game was on. North played a nervous game in the beginning of the game. Passes were missed, pucks lost and stolen, but they played on. Justin Strehlau played an amazing game in the net. He stopped shot after shot after shot. Finially Memorial got one past him. North seemed to be woken up by the goal, and the butterflies seemed to leave the players. Near the end of the first period Memorial placed a big hit on Ryan Morris, so big in fact that the blade was clear broken off his skate. Ryan quickly changed into a teamates skates, while Pat Rolbicki ran across the street to Riverside Bike and Skate and fix the skates. The first period finished with Memorial up 1-0

The second period was the Huskies period. They kept the puck for a majority of the period, but the Memoraly goalie was as good as Strehlau. He only allowed one goal bye, shot by Ryan Morris on his fixed skates. Morris also made a huge hit later in the Third period. One of those hits that take the player off his skates. The second period ended in a tie, 1-1. The Third period was one of nerves, with both the players and the fans. North had a few finial shots to end the game, one which was in the net. The shot was beautiful, but the net got knocked off the pegs, so it wasn't allowed. Regulation ended in a 1-1 tie. To say that the atmosphere at this point was intense, is a huge understatement. During the three minute intermission before Overtime the North crowd was screaming. The already horse fans were screaming louder than they had all day.

Overtime started, and Both sides were on edge. North would take a shot with all the Memorial fans gasping, and the North fans holding their breath. Than the puck would come to the other side, and the oppisite would be true. Finially the tie ended. Memorial came down the ice, took a shot, and the puck went in the end. The screams came from the Memorial side, while there was silence on the North. After a minute of silence we started chanting "Justin Strehlau." It wasn't his fault taht we lost, he was the reason we made it to the sectional finials. He had been amazing all season. The guys were shocked, even to the point of tears. As they were handed their silver medals, you could tell they wern't comprehending what was going on. They were supposed to be the ones that won, they were supposed to be in the huge pile by the student section, not Memorial.

After the game I couldn't speak. I was so horse from screaming I needed time for my voice to heal. I had dinner with Andy and Petra at Erbert and Gerbert's and than went home.

Saturday I woke up and ran some errands with my dad and brother. We had to drop some stuff off at Hope Gospel Mission, pick up a chair at HOM Furniture, and get an iPod for me at Best Buy. At 2:00 Andy and I left to pick up some of his friends and head to Christie Mountian to go skiing/snowboarding. Andy and his friends were snowboarding while I skiied. We went through gladed areas, down insane hills, and over jumps. I was proud that I kept up with them once I found them and started follwoing them. After skiing was over we headed back home and I crashed

Today was a lazy day. I worked on some homework, and listened to my iPod. I was like a little kid at christmas all day. I just read with my headphones in.

I'll leave you with that.

[mood | thirsty]

People really need to grow up at North. There is this new kid at school that just started going to North this week I think. I heard that he came from Altoona and transferred because he wanted to be on the North Dance Team. There are also rumors that he is gay and wears makeup. They all sound like frosh rumors but I really didn't as anyone if any of the rumors were true. Anyway this kid is having alot of people talk shit about him behind is back. About how his a "fucking fag" and about how he wears makeup. You know...typical High School guys afraid of what they dont understand, or agree with. A bunch of guys were talking shit about this kid in the locker room yesterday and Quitter stood up for him. They in turn gave Andy a bunch of shit but I give alot of props to him. Anyway I was sitting in stats today and a buch of guys in the back of the class were saying alot of shit about this kid. One comment that really pissed me off was something like "they made so many rules about us not wearing hats and shit, they should make a rule no weird people should go to North." I just about lost it along with Z and Squeely who were sitting with me and have stood up for the new kid too.

Gotta love High school

My weekend [Feb. 21st, 2005|09:46 am]
[mood | energetic]

Was pretty good.  I figured I would post since I'm doing nothing in photo again.  I really need to take some filter pictures this weekend.

So Friday was a pretty normal day at work and school.  Nothing overly exciting happened.  After work Petra and I decided to make french toast for dinner.  We walked in and my parents were watching The Notebook.  Now Petra had been refusing to watch the movie because she remembered loving the book when she read it in middle school and she didn't want to ruin the book.  She sat down while I was making the french toast and she got sucked in.  After the movie ended she left because we had an early day the next day.

Saturday We went to Swimming State.  Well Lyndsay and I were in one car and Alison Nye and Petra were in another car.  Long story on why we didn't drive together but whatever.  We left Eau Claire at about 7:30 and Got down to Madison at about 10:30.  After finding the Nat we watched some of the diving portion and tried to save seats for all the memorial people that were coming.  The Swim meet started finially at 3:00 and we watched Eric get third in one of his events.  The two relays he was on also set two new school records for Memorial.  After the meet we went to Noodles for dinner and planned to playing lasertag with the boys.  They wern't going to start playing till nine to we left Madison early, around 10:00.  It snowed the whole way up and we took it really slow.  From Tomah to Eau Claire we averaged about 40 or 45 mph the whole way.  We eventually got home at 2:15 am.  It was horrible.

Yesterday I basically vegged.

Gotta go...cleanup bell just rang

Honestly...whats up with this myspace.com/xanga craze.  Doesn't everyone realize that LJ is far better than those.

Anyway my day was better than yesterday.  Not great but better.  The depression was a lot better...but not perfect.  I need sleep though.
